“It is finished”

In Luke 19:30, before Jesus gave up His spirit on the cross He says, “It is finished”.

So what is finished? The price for our sin is paid in full, we are redeemed and restored by the blood, God gave us the Holy Spirit and satan is disarmed and defeated. The cross is the foundation of our faith and eternal salvation as followers of Jesus Christ. Nothing more needs to be done to bring us into fellowship with God The Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit.

But...Jesus isn’t finished. He is seated at the right hand of God and He is interceding for us. He isn’t finished bringing the lost home. He isn’t finished refining us into His likeness. Everything the Lord does is shaping our soul and character to become like Jesus.

We can rest securely in the finished work of the cross but we must press on to lay hold of all that Christ died to give us! There is wholeness, healing and complete freedom in the finished work of the cross. Don’t stop. Keep running the race that has been set before you. Fix your eyes on Jesus who is the author and perfecter of faith. He endured the cross for YOU!

If you have not said yes to Jesus, don’t wait another moment to encounter and experience His great love for you. His salvation and His love is for YOU right now. Will you say yes to His invitation into eternal life? If you are unsure what this means or how to say yes to Him please comment or send me a private message and Scott and I will be happy to lead you in the greatest decision you will ever make. There is no greater gift than eternal life in Jesus.
