I'm sure most of us have known someone who isn't interested in Christianity because of the actions of someone professing faith who has misrepresented Christ.
1 John 2:6 says, "Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did." As followers of Jesus Christ, we have a responsibility to represent Jesus Christ to the world around us accurately. To represent Him, we must know Him, and to know Him, we must read and study the Word.
1 John 4:8 tells us that "God is love". Everything He does is an expression of love. Because He is love, He can do nothing apart from love. Therefore, everything we do and say should be rooted in love.
1 Corinthians 16:14 says it simply, "Let all that you do be done in love."
