When we become a spiritual son or daughter, our growth as a follower of Jesus Christ does not happen automatically. Peter tells us in 2 Peter 1:5, that we need to apply all diligence in our faith. Right before this verse, Peter explains that "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life," AND its found in our knowledge of Him. There is no greater knowledge to obtain than our knowledge of God.
One thing that has drastically changed my and Scott's life is our commitment to the Word of God. It is our personal conviction to begin each day reading and studying the Word of God.
